5.0 out of 5 stars it’s bright!,So far, I’m quite thrilled with these monitors. Have 2- don’t know how I’ve done without all these years – use autocad on one screen and pdf file on the other – no more clutter on my desk – especially as my drawings tend to be 6 feet in length!
They are very bright – found myself backing away from the monitor the first few weeks before I got used to them. I use white screen with black linework rather than dark screen with colors -so can only tell you that I’m very happy with what I use and see when I work on 3d modeling and drawing layout.
Have viewed photographs with 2 megapixel thru 10 megapixel size and you can definitely see the dots and sharpness with this screen. It’s especially great when trying to ‘edit’ the photos…I can now see where I need to do ‘touch-ups’ without squinting.
They’re still too close for my liking, but the double stand/support I bought for them is proving to be awkward Dual Monitor Flex Stand Up To 24IN 22LBS/MONITOR– so I’m using the provided support – which was quite easy to install – slide in and “snap” you’re ready to go.
The menu control on the bottom right hand corner of the monitor frame is very sensitive – if you try to grasp the frame near the bottom(as you do to adjust tilt and so on) you’re likely to turn on the menu – slightly annoying the first few times adjusting the tilt – but one learns to keep away from the corner]
Haven’t tried all the bells and whistles yet…but so far very happy. So happy in fact, I bought one for myself for home-can’t wait to see blu-ray movie on it…have a Sony 40″ Bravia – and it’s not as bright as this Dell!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dell on DELL,I was in the market for a new monitor somewhere around 3-4 hundred dollars. I keep coming back to the U2410 because of it’s ratings but thought it was more than I wanted to spend. I read some negative reviews, all unfounded by me. This monitor is worth the investment if your in a professional business as I am (also my name is Dell).

4.0 out of 5 stars The extra features make this on a winner!,It is really the extras on the monitor that are the most usefull, the 4 USB 2 ports and the multiple video inputs. I also purchased a new Windows 7 machine and wireless keyboard to replace my aging XP machine and 20 inch Dell Ultrasharp monitor. Naturally some of my old software isn’t compatible with Windows 7. With this monitor it is easy to switch between the two machines. I just plug my external hard drives into the USB ports, use the old VGA input for my XP machine and the DVI input for my windows 7 machine. The monitor has very slick controls for switching between video inputs. To run my old XP machine I just unplug the logitech unified USB controller from the Windows 7 machine and put it into the XP machine, I switch to the VGA input and presto I have access to old my old files and software. The switch back is just as easy and, using the external drive, I can easily transfer files to the Windows 7 machine. I know I could network the machines together but this way I can run the machine independentaly. Now for the monitor. My primary use is photographs and video. The extra wide screen gives a much wider landscape displaying more thumbnails for photos and video timelines. I still have the 20 inch monitor on my internet only, a third machine, and I think I still like the colors of the old monitor better. The 24 inch is brighter but maybe too bright. I did lower the brightness and contrast from 100 percent to 35 percent and changed the color setting, input mode to Adobe RGB and this helped. Maybe I expect to much from the monitor but the more I use it the more I like it. I have gotten used to the brightness and hope what I see is accurately display on my friends TV’s and PC’s when I give them a DVD of my work. I know there are monitors of equal or greater size for less money but most of them are missing the USB ports and I wonder if their displays are any better.

4.0 out of 5 stars Input selection interface is poor.,Input select is poor.

There are 5 buttons, top to right I will name them 1 2 3 4 5

To change source from say DVI 1 to DVI 2 you have to press:

5 to activate, 3 to select input source, 3 to move down, 4 to confirm.

To go back to dvi 1

5 to activate, 3 to select, 2 to move up, 4 to confirm.

Pivot and stand are great, but the input select seems to have been a victim of fancy looks over function. Source input should either be one single button to cycle through connected devices, or discrete buttons for each device.

3.0 out of 5 stars DELL U2410 – Not for editors.,Being the best 24″ IPS monitor out there for the money, I too purchased this monitor in hopes of getting a good one. Too bad that didn’t happen. My first issue was with the color profile not working with Photoshop, but a quick Google search fixed that (search betav3 ICC if you need the fix). The second issue was with the color. Just as some of the other reviews here on Amazon state, looking at a solid white screen, say, Google’s home page for example, there is obvious green tinting on the left side fading into the middle, and pink tinting on the right fading into the middle. The pinkest part is actually located more towards the bottom right portion. Closer inspection on a medium gray background, say, Photoshop for example, reveals two dark vertical bands, with 3 darker intersecting spots. Now, these aren’t crazy dark, but very obvious for anyone that is going to do any sort of photo editing.

Let me say that this montor is so nice in every other way that I considered living with the issues, it’s that nice. However, I have decided to exchange the monitor in hopes of getting one with either no issues, or these to a lesser degree, and will update this when it arrives (if I can).

If you’re a person just looking at a screen, this monitor is awesome! However, if you do any sort of editing and need colors to be correct, buy with caution, and be ready to exchange or return it.
