Customer Reviews

Excellent workout title for young kids
With all the Wii exercise games out there, it seems that there’s been a paucity of active fitness titles suitable for younger members of the family. The two attempts to reach this market have been D3′s Family Party Fitness Fun and Knowledge Adventure’s Jumpstart Get Moving. But both of these games have been dreadfully disappointing.

And so I’ll admit I was a little wary when I first tried Nickelodeon Fit. But after spending a few hours with it, I’m happy to report that finally, we have a kid-friendly fitness game that is a lot of fun and does provide some decent exercise value. And it’s a bonus that our familiar friends Dora, Diego, Kai-lan, and the Backyardigans are part of it.

Each of the four friends has seven activities you can choose from (as with most Wii games, they have to be unlocked as you go). There are also two activities that involve all of the characters for a total of 30 overall.

Some of the activities are simple (thrusting the Wii remote up to jump rope, moving it in a circle to hula hoop, etc.). Others are impressively interactive and fun. In one game, you help the Backyardigans roll a big ball up a cliff, and then once it starts rolling you steer it towards a giant set of bowling pins. There’s a similar game involving Dora and a bicycle. There’s another fun game that involves Rintoo throwing a football into a set of tires on a tree. A lot of the games are just good fun, and even more so when competing against someone else.

One thing I love are the little details in the game. There’s a game involving Dora on a bicycle where you’ll feel a rumble in the Wii remote as she rolls over rocks. You can have her ring her bell by pressing one of the buttons. And of course, the whole time she’ll be shouting out exclamations like “fantástico!” and “excellente!”

The animation is impressive and true to the actual cartoons. The Backyardigans are rendered in 3D, just like on TV, while Dora, Diego, and Kai-lan are all their familiar selves. The background animation is beautiful, very much like on TV.

Happily, the controls are never too difficult for youngsters to learn. They mostly involve moving the Wii remote up, down, left, right, and in circles to control the on-screen character. Before each activity, Tyrone the Moose will explain exactly how to use the controls. And during the game there’s a stick figure in a box at all times that shows exactly what movement to make.

One thing I also like is that each game gives an “MVPA Rating”. It took me a while to figure out what this was, but it turns out it stands for “Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activity”. While few of the activities would be considered very vigorous for adults, chances are kids will get a pretty good workout from them, especially if they’re motivated by competing against their siblings (or parents!). Like the cartoon, I’d say the game is most suited for kids from 4-7. For older kids, I’d recommend the excellent Active Life: Explorer With Mat.

There’s a whole section for parents where they can view statistics (including BMI and MVPA) in any date range for up to 5 different profiles, and even create different custom exercise routines for their kids by stringing together different activities.

If there’s a pet peeve I have about this game, it’s that navigating the menus is not very intuitive. You have to hold the Wii remote horizontally, and then use the 1 button (instead of B) to go back or the 2 button (instead of A) to select.

Overall, I was impressed with what Nickelodeon did. It’s not perfect, but it’s certainly a solid title that’s better than the others out there. As I always tell parents, the best kind of exercise with kids is always outside with a ball or a bicycle. But on those days when the weather is bad, Nickelodeon Fit is a great way to ensure that the kids stay in shape.

adults can play it too!!
I bought this game for my 4.5 y.o. daughter and it is just a bit ‘over her head’ at this point – she gets frustrated with it after playing a couple games and then loses interest. I’m guessing it is best for kids at least 6. y.o.

however as an adult i play it and i like it better than wii fit, in terms of both exercise effectiveness and fun. Some of the games really get you moving and they arent as involved or picky as the adult wii fitness games.

I went shopping for a kid fitness wii game about 1 month ago and it seems they were described as boring and mediocre so i held out for this one and am glad i did – i definately wouldn’t describe it as either.

For each game you can choose whether you want to use the wii balance board and the controller or just the controller. I haven’t tried it w/ the bb yet but the controller by itself seems to work just fine.

Cute game, easy to follow and a nice little workout for the kids
I bought this game as a Christmas present..then decided to dig it out early to help the kids get some of that energy out of their systems during this school break!

It began with a quick and easy set up – very simple to create a profile for your kids: name, age, a picture they want to represent them such as a ball or bike (might have been nicer to have their Wii Characters, but the pictures made set up easy and no need for endless screens to chose hair color, outfits etc). It also asks their height and weight.

Then its a quick start, kids can chose single or multiplayer and games are quick and easy! One thing I REALLY liked about this compared to many Wii games on the market, this responds well and accurately to the Wii remote – as an adult it gets rather frustrating when the game and remote do not work well together, but for kids this can be even more challenging but no such worries here – as they move, it quickly picks up their actions and responds

There are some great games – a little exercise routine which really does get the kids moving in a fun way so they are not even noticing how much they are exercising. Then some great interactive games such as bowling and skipping with their favorite Nick characters! There is also an option to customize games / workouts which might be a great option for slightly older kids!

I would say this is a great game for a younger audience as many of the characters resonate with the Pre school crowd, I would day a great choice for 3-8 year olds, with the older end of that spectrum enjoying the game for playability as opposed to being interested in the characters!

It really does provide some good exercise for kids, in a simple, fun and interactive way! I loved this game..and my kids found it a great deal of fun!

This is my favorite toy my son has ever had!
This toy is so cool! It adjusts easily and perfectly so that my son and I can both wear it comfortably with only 1 minute of adjustment time. My son LOVES this and so do I. I can’t wait to wear it as I go through the drive through at Starbucks Monday! (Not while driving…Ill just put it on right before I get to the window). It is very well made and I swear it looks like it is good enough quality to have been a real movie prop. Very nice! Definaly recomend

Captivating & Fun
I was worried about the adjustability of this helmet however I can honestly say from my 5 yr old nephew’s little dome to my 30 yr old big tank head there were no issues in this helmet adjusting. He LOOOOOVES it and that’s what matters most to me. A Good Buy!

Bobbly Bumblebee
My son received this as 5th bday present. He was excited and thought it was cool. He wore it twice and not once since. It is VERY heavy for him. It bobbles all over him and makes him top heavy. We worked with it many times to try and adjust it. He put into a corner after his party and it sat there all Thanksgiving and after. Adults tried wearing it and we all agreed no one thought it sounded much like Bumblebee. Very disappointed in this product. My son is average height and weight for a 5 yr. old. I think this should be for late 6 to 7 yrs. old. Wish I could return it.

Squishy little fun!
Here you’re looking at a bubble pack of Squinkies, that is small soft silicone pencil toppers painted and shaped as cute things such as pups, cats, cakes, and babies.

Squishy’s caught on through Sea Mania and Zoo Mania capsule machines, which started dispensing the little squishy critters over a year ago. in the pack you get 12 shapes you can see in the package and 4 “surprise” Squinkies that are a mystery until you pop open their plastic bubbles. Speaking of which they all come with small storage bubbles which is a smart move as they attract hair and dirt as you handle them.

Most of the fun from these comes from trading or wearing them, there are supposedly “rare Squinkies” but this is false as each pack has a set configuration of Squinkies. There are several of these bubble packs, each with a different set (you can tell them apart by the color of the mystery bubbles if you can’t recognize the shapes) even the mystery bubbles will always have the same set. For example you buy two 16 packs with purple mystery bubbles you will get two of the exact same set. So to get them all you have to buy one of EVERY set they make as well as playsets and carrying cases. I would have liked blind packs more as it would add to the trading aspect but this way you can buy the same sets for two different kids and know they wont argue over certain ones.

These are girl-targeted but I’ve heard little boys like these too so it probably won’t be long before some stereotypical male version of them comes out full of tanks and guns in small squishy form. Our country has gender issues -_-” Anyways, they are also cheap so don’t expect some radical wonderful toy as you aren’t spending much at MSRP (please make sure you only pay MSRP and not price gougers), they are just little squishy figures, cute and fun. ;)

Squinkies Bubble Pack Toy
My daughter loves this toy; and even carries some of them off to the shower with her. She likes the “tiny” factor of the toy. I would not recommend this for small children who would put it in their mouthes; but it’s great for her age-range.

Customer Reviews

Huge Improvement,I’ve been a Sonicare user for about 10 years now. I have always loved my Sonicare but hated the way gunk and crud would build up under the screw cap that secured the brush head to the base unit. Gross! But once my base unit finally broke, I purchased the new Sonicare. The new design is really cool and no more gunk and crud build up since the screw cap is gone. Also, the new toothbrush sanitizer is awesome. I can’t say enough good things about my new Sonicare.

best ever?,My dentist suggested. Is a very good product and it seems to do better than my older one, I’ll find out at my next cleaning. Others commented about hitting the adjustment buttons while using. It has happened to me a few times but you can learn to avoid it and if you hit it by mistake, just hit it again to restart, the timer continues from where you left off.

Better Than Brushing!!,I will never brush again! This is an excellent product and a bargain and once you use it, you will be hooked for life!!

So far, So great,I’ve only had this product for approximately a month so I can’t comment on the durability or long term quality yet.

What I can comment on is the performance of this toothbrush. Up until this purchase I had been using a Braun Oral-B rechargeable for the last 10 years. I loved the Braun and I loved that it lasted so long with no problems at all. I loved the Braun so much I recommended it to my roommate who was searching for a new rechargeable toothbrush. The only problem was that she went through 3 Braun’s in the last 2 years and even the third one was failing on a regular basis. There was no way I could purchase another Braun and trust it was going to work.

So, after much research, I settled on the Phillips Sonicare FlexCare. As I said I can’t comment on the durability or long term quality but the performance is amazing. My much loved Braun NEVER worked this well. I was shocked by the difference in how my teeth looked and felt after a few weeks of using the SoniCare. I’ve never had a toothbrush that left my teeth with that smooth feeling you get after a professional cleaning at your dentists office until using this product. My roommate was so impressed with my love of this toothbrush she purchased one for herself last week. I can say that she absolutely loves hers as much as I do mine.

The good: Great cleaning, comfortable grip, the brush timer is very handy (although I think it should be programmed with times for chewing surfaces instead of just front and back tooth surfaces), the battery is lasting over 2 weeks before needing recharge, comes with two different sized brush heads so you can choose which is more comfortable for you.

The bad: This baby is gonna rattle the windows, so to speak, the first several times you use it (I highly recommend taking advantage of the ‘ease in’ functions it offers until you get used to it), doesn’t come with a pink color code ring (I know it’s not really a “bad” but, seriously, how hard is it to offer pink along with the blues and greens?).

As long as I have no problems in the future with the quality of the product I’m a firm 5 stars on this one.

nothing like it,The Sonicare Toothbrush is amazing. I am an adult with braces and the only thing that makes my mouth feel clean is brushing with this brush. I am a regular dental patient and always get compliments on my well taken care of mouth. I highly recommend buying one of these, especially is you are not so keen on flossing daily.

Customer Reviews

Not cheap, but fantastic!,What can I say? The parts all feel like a high-quality product- everything is solid, parts fit together well, and the materials are sturdy.

The little cleaner booth may or may not be useful, I don’t know- I’ve never had much of a problem with microorganisms on my toothbrush in the past.

Ultimately what matters though is the job the brush does, and let me say it is fantastic! I thought I had found a winner with my previous Oral-B brush; I got lazy and mostly stopped brushing for 5 months, and started again in the last month with that brush. I went in to get a dentist checkup, and my teeth were reasonably O.K. which I figured was pretty good catch-up after so much slacking.

But now… this brush blows the old one away. My teeth are so clean it feels almost like I just walked out of the dentist after I finish brushing (except a little slimier). It’s that good.

love this product!,So much better than my standard tooth brush! I’ve been using the Sonicare for 1 month today, but your teeth will thank you after the first brush! This thing makes brushing FUN!

Wow, what a toothbrush!,I purchased this toothbrush a month ago. I had braces put onto my teeth and brushing with the Sonicare toothbrush makes brushing an ease. I love the different programs it has to choose from and I do use them all!! I have noticed a huge difference in the color of my teeth (whiter) and the elimination of plaque build up behind my front teeth. I drink a lot of tea each day and there are no tea stains at all since I have been using this brush. I wish I had purchased it years ago! Well worth the money. Love the ultraviolet cleaning station, no germs on my brush!!

Sonicare,This is the newer version of the Sonicare I’ve been using for years. This one has multiple settings and a sanitizing feature which works well and is easy to use. My only negative is that the settings on the toothbrush are too hard on my gums, so the only one I can use is the “sensitive” setting. Otherwise, it’s a terrific product.

A big difference from other toothbrushes.,I was hesitant to spend the amount of money I considered expensive for an electric toothbrush. I figured what is the difference between this model and the lower priced models? They all clean your teeth, right? Wrong!! This model cleans more signifcantly than any other model that I have previously used. After two weeks of use, my teeth were whiter and my mouth felt much cleaner. The brush has some nice touches such as the electronic head sanitizer, as well as multiple functions (Clean Teeth, Clean Gums, Massage, Quick Brush, etc.). This product is well worth the price for the quality of work it perfoms on your teeth and gums. It definitely improves overall dental hygiene more than any other product. It actually makes brushing a more pleasurable experience. I have been using this brush for over three weeks, and the novelty has not worn off. The only question I have is regarding the products durability. Will the battery last for a few years? My previous lower end Sonicare brush(Elite Series) lasted over 5 years. I would expect to receive greater longevity from this product.

The Best Toothbrush… Ever!,In the past I’ve always used the traditional toothbrushes I buy in a bulk pack from Costco. I have sensitive gums so every time I brush, the sink is full of blood. My father talked me into purchasing the Sonicare and I must say it is one of the best purchases I’ve made. Not only is it gentle on my gums, I can instantly feel the difference, especially in the “hard to reach” areas in the back of the mouth. After two weeks of using the Sonicare, my gums stopped bleeding entirely. There is a “Sensitive” setting on the brush for people with sensitive gums. The UV sanitizer is useless to me because I don’t believe anyone shares their toothbrushes these days. Just pop in a different brush… It’s nice if you think it actually makes your toothbrush cleaner but I don’t believe it is necessary. However, I do use the sanitizer once a week. What the heck, I paid for the darn thing! My only regret is that I should’ve purchased a Sonicare toothbrush a long time ago.

Switched per my dentist,My dentist suggested I switch from a manual toothbrush to the Sonicare. After about three months, I can tell a difference.

The sonicare does a better job at removing stains and giving a good “clean” feel. The only downside is that it takes some getting used to. It feels like a small earthquake in my mouth and really vibrates hard. If you buy this toothbrush, be prepared to give a good week or two to get used to the vibrations.

The brushheads don’t seem to last very long. I went through one in less than three months, and the second one is already starting to wear. So you have to be prepared for a pretty big investment in brush heads after purchasing this toothbrush.

Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who is less than diligent with flossing, or if you have problems with staining in between dentist appointments. Just be prepared for a vigorous brushing.

Customer Reviews

Love it!,We bought two of these. One for our 7 yr old and one for our 4 yr old. Just to comment on some other reviews on this toothbrush: No child should be left to do his own brushing. They just dont know how to do a good enough job. None of my children have cavities and we do not take flouride. My husband and I brush their teeth every night. My 7 yr old will brush his own teeth in the morning. That is his time to learn how to brush correctly. This toothbrush is wonderful. Both of my children will brush for the full two minutes. They lower level one is only brushing for one minute. In my opinion that is good with starting out with the toothbrush. But kids need to be brushing the full two minutes just like their parents. My four year old can handle this toothbrush wonderful. I think he would have been able to handle this at even three years old. I will not be buying the store bought electric toothbrushes anymore or the manuals. This toothbrush works great and travels great.

Great for older kids, but not fidgety four-year-olds,First, let me say that I LOVE my adult Sonicare toothbrush. When the kids toothbrush came out, I was anxious to get it for my three boys, ages 7, 4, and 4, thinking it would help develop good brushing habits. We gave it to them at Easter. It is now late June, and I wanted to share my experiences and suggestions for improvement. The seven-year-old is doing fine with it, and he uses the “left” side for a gentler brushing. My complaints revolve around my younger boys. For some reason, the Sonicare brushes, at least in our family, generate a LOT of saliva. Even though we do the inside bottom last (where the salivary glands are), we have to make the child hang over the bowl to catch the volumes of drips. For some reason, this is not an issue with manual brushes, nor with other brands of electric toothbrushes. Yes, we only use a tiny dot of toothpaste. The trick is getting a fidgety four-year-old boy to stand still leaning over the sink for the full cycle. One of my boys can’t stand the saliva build-up, and has to spit in between beeps. If I take the brush out of his mouth while it’s still running, then the brush sprays saliva and toothpaste everywhere. If I turn it off, it forgets where it was in the cycle, and it thinks it’s starting all over again, so we lose the built-in programming. On nights when they are extremely tired or grouchy, I can’t do a quick brushing (just to maintain the rule of brushing every night). If I do, then I have to break another rule of going through the whole brushing sequence. Every parent knows that there are times that some things must be compromised (e.g. do I generate a bed time tantrum trying to make an exhausted child stand still for two minutes?) I understand that children should not be allowed to compromise the program. What I’d like to see is a ‘refresh’ button on the device, or a “secret” multi-button push that parents can use to get a shorter cycle. Lacking that, I’d suggest that you keep a manual brush available for those nights when you don’t have the parental stamina to try to make your wiggly child stand still over the bowl for the full cycle. Or, get a drool cup :-) .

No more pleading!,My 8 year old son used to spend all of 15 seconds brushing his teeth. When his dentist recommended the Kids Sonicare (I didn’t know one existed), I thought it was worth a try. This is a great toothbrush for kids. It is expensive, but not when you compare it to the possibility of multiple dentist visits and fillings and more. Plus it makes a cute beep sound that helps the brusher know how much brushing is left to go! A thumbs up for this one.

Cavity Prone Kids NOW want to brush! My youngest son(6)has soft enamel and has been getting cavities since he was 2 years old! A children’s hygenist recommended this toothbrush and said it really helps the kids clean their teeth effectively. Every night and morning it was a fight, including tears, to get him to brush. Now my both kids ask if it is time to brush! They like the timer that tells them when to switch sides, the motion isn’t too much in the automatic toothbrush and they think it is just like the adults toothbrush. I was skeptical but the kids love it. I did buy two because the idea of sharing the same toothbrush base did not work for the 10 year old, and then the youngest child picked the same faceplate as his older brother so we used a sharpie to mark initials on each brush so depending on the ages of your kids you might not be able to share the base. We use our adult Sonicare UV sanitizer case to sanitize the kids brush heads as well. This Sonicare brush is fair superior to the less expensive automatic toothbrush I was giving the kids and they definetly brush longer on their own with no fights!

Great Product,We bought 2 of these for our children and not only have we noticed there teeth are beter taken care of, but they actually have at least a reasonably good time during brushing. The music that plays at intervals helps hem know when to move to the next area and when they are done. Previously we might have goten them to brush for 1 minute tops. Now they continue for the full 2 minutes. Would definitely recommend to others.

a real tooth saver!,This toothbrush has been a real God-send for us. We use it on both our 3 year old daughter and our 2 year old boy (red head for the girl, blue for the boy). Despite diligent manual tooth-brushing, our daughter was having lots of pre-cavity symptoms like discoloration and white spots. After we started using this toothbrush her teeth cleaned right up and her gums look much healthier. The dentist was very pleased with her last check-up.

With our son the problem was a bit different. It took two of us to brush his teeth – one holding him down and the other trying to pry his mouth open and brush. After watching his sister getting brushed with the sonicare, he walked right up and popped his mouth open to be brushed too, and that has continued ever since! We just had his check-up and were told he has excellent oral hygiene.

One of the things that we like best about it is that the 4-7 year old size heads are just the right size, even for our 2 year old (who has been using it since he was 18 months). We had tried the cheaper oral-B electric toothbrushes and though the kids liked the characters on them, the brush heads were so bulky that it was difficult to get on the cheek side of the teeth and the quality of brushing doesn’t even begin to compare to the sonicare. I know one of the reviews complains that the handle is too big, but we have not found that to be so. On the occasions that we let our 2 year old try to do his own teeth, he has no problem with the handle either. We are TOTALLY pleased with this toothbrush. We believe the initial cost and brush replacement costs are more than compensated for in savings at the dentists office.

Customer Reviews

Bigger than I thought with same DSi functions!
Firstly I’d like to say I’m a 43 year old mom. I got into gaming several years ago and my kids and I have a lot of fun with the Nintendo DS. We have had the original DS, DS Lites, DSi’s, and now the DSi XL. I got an XL for myself. My son has many GBA games so he doesn’t want one (because the DSi XL cannot play any GBA – Gameboy Advance- games) and my daughter thought it was too big to be portable. She likes something that fits easily into a backpack or jacket pocket. Although I think the XL could I’d probably agree if you are going for portability then the regular DSi should do you just fine. The reason I chose the XL is because I play primarily at home and I play a lot of puzzle games. Someimes these types of games are hard to see, especially the seek and find. I’m hoping this larger sized one helps that.

Even though I knew it was larger it is LARGER than I thought. That’s a good thing because it is almost more like a PDA or something as far as size. Nice and substantial. It is also heavier than I anticipated. This is the only thing I’m a little concerned with as I like to play laying in bed at night and sometimes I’ll play for a couple of hours. I would not want my hand getting extra tired holding the unit up. Additionally it is not as easy to hold this one handed and put the stylus in the other. It might be a fine line but it doesn’t quite feel as comfortable as the DSi in that regard. It feels similar to how the PSP would feel if you held it one handed. Slightly off balance. Edited to Add: Played for 2 hours last night. Although it took a while I did find a comfortable position to hold the XL. It is not as comfortable for extended periods as the regular DSi but it did not get too heavy and my arms did not get sore. I’m quite relieved!

The top part actually has an audible click when you open up the unit. The DSi did not have this click although one of our DS Lite units did. The regular DSi opened smoothly without any catches–this one does not. There is definitely a click. The hinge looks strong enough. We lost one DS Lite to the hinge crack issue so I’m glad to see these hinges look sturdy. The other thing regarding the hinges is that the top piece moves a little when you move the unit. It is not super floppy but it does move when the unit does. I tested it against the DSi and the DS Lite and it took more effort to make those cover or top pieces move. It may be the weight itself which causes this. I will be keeping an eye on my hinges though just to be sure.

It connected right up to my internet with no problems. I went into the DSi shop and I didn’t notice any difference between the XL and my regular DSi. Flawless. I must say, though, that I HATE that I could not take my DSi games with me to this upgrade (Nintendo is so far behind the ball on this and it is one of few complaints I have of Nintendo). Lame Nintendo. Seriously lame!

I got the bronze. It has a nearly black top and the inside is black. The bronze is only on the bottom and sides and it is definitely bronze. From the pictures online it looks more chocolate brown but it is not. I wavered back and forth with this and burgundy. I have not seen the burgundy out of the box but suspect it looks gorgeous. The glossy top looks like an overcoat similar to what is put on cars and trucks. Not like how the DS Lite covers were (although in two tone color this one is nearly exactly the same as the DS Lite Crimson or Blue with the colors in the same places and black in the same places except for the top because this one has the bronze color around the edges and the DS Lite’s had the crimson or blue).

It does not feel “matte” on the bottom. It has a slightly grainy feel–not sure how to describe it. Kind of like how the non shiny cover of my printer feels. I remember when I got the DSi it almost seemed grainy and powdery. Not so with the XL.

Overall I’m very happy with the color-its classy!

Screen: This was my big worry. So far those worries are fairly groundless. I’ve tested out several types of games and in most apsects it is absolutely as good as the regular DSi. For the most part I get no pixelation or stretching and I definitely haven’t noticed any ghosting or lines. While I was playing Bejeweled Twist I did notice that the gems were not as crisp as they are on the regular DSi. For me it was noticable but not bothersome. They were not blurry just a little more fuzzy than normal.

Edited to Add: I’ve tried several additional games and haven’t noticed any issues except on games like Lunar Knights which already had a more pixelated look even on my DS Lite and regular DSi. Just slightly more noticable here but again not enough to impact. If I wasn’t such a video game addict I likely wouldn’t notice but I play every day.

My original DSi had several problems (Nintendo sent me a replacement)-this one has none of them. The battery cover does not “cave” in like my DSi and the insert window around the touch screen is solid–no light shows through. This XL feels as if it is a much higher quality console.

I’ve played with the regular stylus and the bigger pen type stylus. Either is fine but I prefer the regular stylus. The pen stylus might be good for someone who likes to hold the stylus like a pen but it is not a make or break for me.

The other functions (camera and the settings) worked well. No problems encountered. The charger looks to be the same as the regular DSi and this unit fits fine in my G Pak organizer. Edited to Add: Sound–it is actually slightly better sounding than the regular DSi. It feels as if it almost has a deeper sound. More like surround type sound. Also if you have a regular DSi there is a point when you are adjusting sound where it goes from quieter to regular and almost seems like it skips a step. The XL does not do this — the sound progression is very good. I put in my Dragon Quest V as the music is very majestic and it felt more like it was enveloping me in the sound than a regular DSi (tested it with my daughters).

Overall I’m very happy and will update with the weight issue if it becomes a problem. Other than that I’m excited to go play my games and see them on the big screen!

It is all about the screen size!
I am a sixty year old gamer that likes to play Zelda and puzzle games. I had a black Nintendo dsi and loved the unit except for the fact that I was playing games two inches in front of my nose. In my own little nearsighted world, I got along okay and enjoyed the games. Then Nintendo came out with this XL unit……I got the bronze and think that it looks very fashion forward no matter what your age is. It is absolutely stunning and made my little black unit look pretty sad. That being said, Nintendo really did not promise anything other than a bigger screen and this unit delivers! You no longer have to struggle to see the screen. I have played Spirit Tracks on it so far and do not regret the upgrade from the dsi for even a nanosecond. When you think about it, would you rather watch a large television or one with a tiny screen…this is the same thing. The unit is larger but not so large that I would not put it in my purse and play it on the run. So far though, I have not found a small case for it that I like. I will let you know if the extra weight bothers me. I don’t think that it will as the screen size alone is totally worth the upgrade. Also, I am not worried about the new 3D unit. I talked to some real Nintendo representatives that were in the store this morning and they had heard that the unit is a year away for US release. If it doesn’t have a large screen, I won’t want it anyway. UPDATE: I have had the dsi xl for ten days and play it daily. The heavier weight is not an issue for me. I would definitely buy it again and am extremely happy with my purchase. This item was specifically designed for people who need/want a larger screen and it fits this need perfectly. UPDATE 2: I have now had the unit for over a month and still play it daily-this never happened with the regular dsi as I lost interest due to not being able to see the screen well. DSI XL is worth every penny if screen size is an issue and I would still definitely buy it again.

PERFECTION! Nintendo Does It Again =)
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3BEM4U98I181Q Nintendo does it again!

I am going to be honest when i say i really wanted the BURGUNDY colored DSi XL. However, when i stopped by my local Toys R Us today, there weren’t any on display. I couldn’t imagine myself walking around with a Pink DSi XL. I’m a guy after all! Hahaha

This is an extremely well built device. One can feel the quality when the device is in your hand (Even though it says Made in China on the back). After all, this is Nintendo & they always deliver. I never upgraded to the DSi and i am so glad i held off because i didn’t want to sacrifice my DS Lite and lose out on all my GB Advance games. I have been waiting for this device ever since i heard it was coming out last holiday and it’s finally arrived in the US. I am beyond pleased with my upgrade. For anyone who is debating on whether they should shell out the money for the DSi XL – I would recommend that you do yourself a favor & UPGRADE! For the two huge screens alone, it’s totally worth it. I still kept my DS Lite because I do enjoy the backwards capability of the GBA games. It would have been nice if the GBA slot was incorporated in the fourth-generation DS, but its not.

The main attraction of the DSi XL is OBVIOUSLY the two HUGE screens. All the DS games look absolutely GORGEOUS on this thing. All the games look exactly the same as they do on the original DS except they’re all enlarged to accommodate the bigger screens. Yes, the blocks/pixels (Whatever you wanna call it) do look a bit more noticeable, but then again it did as well on the original DS. You’ll notice it at first, but after a few seconds of playing you’ll find yourself completely immersed in your game to even notice something so minor.

I have the bronze version and the only thing that is bronze is the side accent chrome and the back. The cover is a matte finish and yes, it’s a finger magnet, but it has a sheik Manhattan trendy look to it (Very Fashion Forward). However, the cover and the inside look more like a charcoal grey and black more then it does brown or bronze. Even with my lamp turned on right next to the XL, it looks like black. It’s still a very portable gaming device on the go. Despite what reviewers are saying, it’s still a pocket friendly device and its easy to just throw in a purse, bag, or backpack on your way to work. Its exquisite use for a train ride, a plane ride, a scroll around Central Park, or when traveling abroad and you need a good diversion to keep yourself entertained.

Just when everyone thought thin was in for technology, Nintendo does a complete u-turn and marches to the beat of their own drum.

Pros:
Good quality sturdy build
Internet Browser
Ninety-Three Percent Larger Screens (Absolutely gorgeous)
New Interface (Not for DSi users though)
Music Player (I wish it had a video player)
Three Built in Games (Brain Age Math, Brian Age Arts, & some photo thingy)
DSi Shop (This is probably the future of gaming where everything is digital downloads)

Cons:
No video player
Micro card (I’d prefer Micro SD)
No Dictionary (I think the Japanese & UK versions had a built in dictionary)

In response to consumer demand, Wild Planet (creators of the original 2006 Spy Video Car) introduces an all-new spy video vehicle, the Spy Video ATV-360. This remote-controlled tank wirelessly transmits real-time video and audio back to a private headset. The new track-based movement system allows the ATV to climb over obstacles and lets secret agents inspect enemy territory from the safety of their own spy headquarters. Scope out a room and hear if anyone is coming from up to 75 feet away. Confirm the coast is clear by pushing a button on the remote control to perform a 360-degree room scan. Full-circle turns offer early detection of renegade spies approaching from any direction. Because plain-sight video monitors are not acceptable in the spy world, the ATV-360 sends images to a private LCD lens mounted to a pair of lightweight frames. Sound is heard through a single ear bud. Siblings spy on each other, parents check-in on the kids, employees search for approaching bosses – regardless of the mission at hand, the Spy Video ATV-360 is the ultimate surveillance device and is cool enough to make even James Bond jealous.
