Got this for a Uniden BC346XT scanner,By Drowsiness

Ues the same chipset as the Uniden USB-1 and is half the price.

So far, it works great. The data transfer between my computer and the scanner is 100% stable even at 115200 baud! So if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to buying the USB-1 for $30+ then you have found it with this cable/adapter.

The TRENDnet USB to Serial Converter TU-S9 installed easily and is easy to use. The only ‘quirk’ is it installed drivers for both Windows 7 and Xp. The Xp drivers were easily removed in the DEVICE MANAGER. Even so, the converter worked fine without doing this.

Note: the port number that is assigned depends on which USB port the converter is plugged into.

I have not tried it on a 64-bit machine, but I had no trouble getting it working on 32-bit Windows 7. I used it to connect a weather station that only had serial output to a machine with no serial ports and had it working in 5 minutes. Can’t complain about the price, either.

I was concerned about getting a device that would not support Windows Vista or Windows 7 as this is a problem with many other Serial port / USB devices. This one works just fine with the included drivers, but I installed the ones available on the TrendNet website. I use a Acer netbook with this and constantly put the machine into sleep mode, and the adapter has worked fine after each time the machine is brought back to life.

After installing the software and plugging it in it worked well. I got this to transfer data from a website to a Garmin E-Trex Legend and it worked well. After getting the software installed on the computer there were no issues.

I ordered this product on a weekend and received it on Wednesday. Great service
I Downloaded Easy Gps on my Computer.Connected this to my Pc interface cable.
Tried to send Geo cache numbers to my E-trex and it said error about six times.
went back to Easy GPS,changed the baud to usb and it works great.If I can do this
anyone can. Great product.
